The Felthriir are a cat-like people averaging between 5 to 6 feet in height, they are covered in a short fur that varies greatly in colour and pattern. All Felthiir have tails, however they are not prehensile and like with their domestic cousins their tails often seem to have a mind of their own. Typically their tails reach about 4 feet in length and are equally covered in short fur, although some have tufts of thicker fur at the end. Facial features also vary greatly and can take features from various feline species. All Felthriir have padded and clawed feet that make shoes both uncomfortable and impractical, although specially designed feet guards can be used when armour is required. They also have talons on their 4 fingers that are as effective as weapons in an emergency.
The Felthriir's fur is of a thickness that promotes the storage of cool air against their skin, this suggests they come from a hot country. Council records indicate a vast desert to the East and cities known to have existed there so it is likely that the Felthriir originate from that location. The Felthriir themselves have kept little in the way of their own history, a few scrolls survived which have been kept in the Council's archives and suggest the Felthriir were ruled by a Matriarchy, a single queen supported by a small set of advisors. The queen ruled from a central city with the royal family acting as regional ruling in outlying cities and towns with the family standing shown by the size and prosperity of the city or town given. Whilst the central ruling was always female the outlying regional ruling could be male. The Erinor have offered an alternative theory of the Felthriir's true origin, their histories recall the Felthriir having not been on Elyssia at all until a large fireball crashed into the Eastern deserts, it was several years after this that the cities started rising in places where no settlements had been seen before.
Family is considered an important aspect amongst the Felthriir and whilst they no longer have the same rulings as they once had under their own governance they still look to female rulership within their own smaller family units. As a people they are vain often keeping up their appearance sometimes at the cost of other activities. They are also headstrong and willful, often defying Council edicts according to their own whims and sometimes merely for the sake of it as opposed to any actual reason. In opposition to this they do hold family in high regard and given enough reason may consider an "outsider" as family, any individual considered as family is given all the courtesy usually given to blood family. As well as being prideful they are also competent trackers and hunters, due to this the Council employ them as rangers, scouts and specialist warriors, tasking them to combat and critical missions where a certain amount of finesse is required.
