Wisps/Terastryx

Appearance

Wisps and Terastryx are often mistaken for being separate entities, however they are in fact just the one. The Wisp form is quite literally a ball of sentient energy, somewhat resembling a tiny star, but without the heat associated with stars. Those who have come into contact with Wisps have stated that it feels somewhat like pins and needles localised where they came into contact, uncomfortable, but not painful. The Terastryx form is very different. Essentially the Wisp is still inside, but surrounding it is a collection of metallic ores, rocks and objects that form a rough body. However as the Wisp does not really require a body to move it is often ungainly and unusual looking. The Terastryx is often comprised of a single type of metal, but otherwise may possess 3 or 4 legs, 1 or even 8 arms, no head and rarely looks like any other race.

History

The Wisps have been very secretive about their history and it is often suspected they know much more than they are willing to tell. They are, however, very intelligent creatures, something that occasionally works against them as other races find them too formal and aloof. Both Wisps and Terastryx are not often seen although the Terastryx is more common. This has lead to the belief that the Wisps are not affected by the storm and freely pass in and out of the storm itself. If this is true, the Wisps neither confirm or deny the accusation and even meetings of The Council have been unable to garner any response from the Wisp council member, not even anger at the accusation.

Society

As with their history the Wisps do not have a clear society or pecking order, they are rarely seen in any number, the most being 5 Wisps at once. They are known to be able to communicate telepathically over very long distances so it is likely that they have no need to gather in number for social reasons and their very nature means the physical world holds little meaning for them.
