What is Construction?
Construction is a skill of constructing objects and buildings using mostly lumber and nails.
Building
Storage areas and sailing vessels can be built with construction. This includes houses, shops, boats and Clan Storehouses. Storage areas can be expanded and upgraded but they require different types of lumber depending on their levels. Upgrading houses, shops and clan storehouses can be done from the house/storehouse/shop screens.
Please note that boats are built in an alternative manner to houses and storehouses, see the Boats section below for more details.
Projects
You can train contsruction by working on the available construction projects. These are large objects that are constructed piece by piece, each action granting experience and adding to the progress of the projects completion
How do I start Construction?
To start construction, you need to first have attained some lumber via woodworking, nails via smithing, and a large and small sail from tailoring. After you have your lumber, nails, and sails you need to head to Port Solera. At Port Solera you can start your first project, the Plain Caravel at the Shipyard.
Once you are ready to build your first house, you need to travel to the location you wish to build it in and equip a mallet. Equipping a mallet will cause a link to appear which will say "Construct". Cliking on this link will show you what items you can construct at your current location.
Tools
The following tools are used during construction.
Name | Lvl Req | |
---|---|---|
Plain Mallet | 1 | |
Rosewood Mallet | 7 | |
Mahogany Mallet | 13 | |
Bamboo Mallet | 22 | |
Maple Mallet | 31 | |
Witch Willow Mallet | 43 | |
Enchanted Mallet | 55 | |
Ash Mallet | 70 | |
Willow Mallet | 85 | |
Shadow Mallet | 103 | |
Sun Mallet | 121 | |
Moon Mallet | 142 | |
Star Mallet | 163 |
Projects - Ships
Ships can be used to travel between islands without incurring a cost. Ships are also used during Navigation and Fishing skills.
To construct a ship, make your way to the Shipyard at any port and a list of available ship projects will be displayed.
Below is a list of all of the available ship projects and materrials they require.
Houses
Houses are an important part of Elyssia. Houses can provide you with a place to store your sol and your items. The size of each house is measured in slots, and each slot can hold only 1 item. Items in houses do not stack, meaning if you placed 200 wood in your house, it would take up 200 slots as each piece of wood needs its own slot.
Houses must be upgraded. If you want a bamboo house, you have to have built the levels before it, plain wood, upgraded with rosewood, upgraded with mahogany, then upgraded with bamboo. You can't just go straight in and build a bamboo wood house immediately. To do this click upgrade house after the house has been built.
Here is a list of houses which are available for you to build.
